Frequently Asked Questions: Tutors

For Tutors:

1. How do I become a tutor on Studentutor?

To become a tutor, simply fill out the form on our website. Regardless of whether you are qualified or not, you will receive a follow up email regarding whether you meet qualifications to become a Studentutor. Nonetheless we are relatively flexible and will try our best to find a solution for you.

2. What information do I need to provide to become a tutor?

We require your A-level/IB (or equivalent) and university grades, some personal information, and a photo for your website profile. These details can be discussed further during an onboarding call.

3. How does the tutoring process work?

Once approved, we'll connect you with students interested in your subject. All sessions are conducted online via Google Meet, and you'll be paid £15 per session by Studentutor. We encourage flexibility, as we handle client acquisition and marketing.

4. Why should I continue tutoring through StudenTutor instead of independently giving sessions?

Studentutor provides flexibility by connecting you with students and managing client acquisition and marketing efforts. As we grow, we will be able to provide more and more clients to you without you having to worry about how to find them. IF we find out that you use the clients that we provided to you to give private sessions we will have to exclude you from our program.

5. Is recording sessions mandatory, and why?

Yes, we require tutors to record sessions for quality control purposes. These recordings will only be used to ensure high-quality tutoring and won't be assessed or used for any other purpose.

6. How and when do I get paid?

Tutors are paid £15 per session, and payments are made by Studentutor. Students pay us £20 per session, and students must ensure that payment is made to our company's bank account within 48 hours after the session. Even if this is not the case, the tutor is paid by us.

7. Is there any charitable initiative associated with tutoring?

Yes, we donate 50 pence for each session connected through us to an organization supporting children in Africa.
